Residential circuit breaker warranty update

Eaton has recently updated the limited warranty terms for residential products. The new limited warranty terms come into effect on 1 June 2024 and will be applied based on the manufacture date of the circuit breaker. The previous warranty documents (dated 2005) will continue to apply to products manufactured prior to 1 June 2024.

Highlights of some of the changes to our limited warranty include:

• Updating our limited warranty’s terms to make them more consistent with, if not stronger than, other industry manufacturers
• Consolidating various limited warranties into a single limited warranty
• Updating who to contact at Eaton with warranty service and questions, and how to contact them
• Reiterating what is and what is not covered by the limited warranty
• Changing the limited warranty’s length for CH electronic breakers (AFCI and GFCI)
• Providing a new dispute resolution section that includes mandatory, individual arbitration and limitations of liability
