Eaton SecureConnect App User Guide

The SecureConnect app allows you to monitor and control your alarm system over the internet from your Android™ or Apple® iOS™ phone or tablet.

About the App

Using the app, you can:

  • View the status of your panel
  • Set and unset the panel
  • Receive notifications of alarms or set/unset actions (even when the app is not open)
  • View camera images generated by an alarm or other event
  • Switch outputs on or off

Installing the App

You can install the app from the Google Play™ store or Apple App Store® in the normal way

Logging into the App

Registered user – Once registered and/or signing into a device for the first time, enter your email address and password, you will automatically be taken to the pairing page.

New registration – To register as a new user of SecureConnect:

  • tap on “Create Account” at the bottom of the screen
  • enter your email address, create a password and confirm the password, then tap on the “NEXT” button in the bottom right of the screen
  • read the Terms and Conditions and Privacy policy and accept by ticking the boxes beside each item, then tap on the “DONE” button in the bottom right of the screen.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to the email address that you entered, tap on the link in the email to confirm your account.

Note: Password must be over 6 characters and a maximum of 20 characters and contain at least:

  • 1 upper case character
  • 1 lower case letter
  • 1 numerical digit
  • 1 special character

Pairing the App

The pairing process allows you to link a panel to you app;
To generate the pairing code:

  • Enter the User menu at the physical panel keypad (press the menu button flowed by your own user code) and navigate to the Pair App option. 
  • Press the tick button, this will generate a random code containing 6 characters (pairing code is only valid for 15 minutes).
  • Enter the pairing code into the app and give the panel a name that is familiar to you.  

Using the App

The main app page has 4 tabs; Status, Zones, Log, & Outputs. You navigate through these tabs either by tapping the relevant icon at the top of the screen or swiping left or right.

Status Screen

The Status screen is the default screen when you access a panel. The page shows the current status of your system and allows you to set, partset, unset or reset the system.

 

For a Part set system – simply tap on the action for the part of the system you wish control.

 

For a Partition system – tap relevant partition, then simply tap on the action for the part of the system you wish control.

Zones

The zones screen is when you can view the status of the zones on your system. Each zone can also be omitted by using the toggle switch on the right of each zone.

 

Note: if you are unable to toggle a zone and wish to, please contact your installer so that they program that option in the panel.

Log Screen

The log screen the panel’s log messages. For further information on the details of the messages, please contact your installer.

If you have cameras connected to your system, tap on the camera icon to view, download or share images.

Output Screen

If your installer has programmed any “user defined” outputs these will be displayed here, to activate/deactivate an output use the toggle switch on the right of each output.

Menu Options

The app menu is access by tapping the menu icon at the top left of the screen, and has the following options:

  • My Panels
  • Settings
  • About
  • Feedback
  • Log out

My Panels

From this page you can view the list of panels paired to your app, edit panel options and also add additional panels.

To edit panel options, tap the three dots icon to the right of a panel, this will present a list of options at the bottom of the screen:

  • Edit panel name – allows you to change the name of the panel as it is displayed in the app.
  • Select notification type – provides the ability to choose which type of events will be notified.
  • Set as primary panel – if you have more than one panel paired to your app, this would be the panel that is displayed whenever you open the app.
  • Remove panel – allows you to remove a panel from your app.

To add a panel, tap on the plus icon at the bottom right of the screen, and then follow the steps for pairing a panel.

Settings

The settings page allows you to make changes to how the app behaves, the options are:

  • Quick access code – enable or disable the use of a Quick Access Code for logging into the app.
  • Fingerprint access - enable or disable the use of your device’s fingerprint or face unlocking feature for logging into the app.
  • Notification sounds – for each of the notification type you can choose a different sound.

About

The About page provides you with information related to the app, it also includes the ability to review the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Feedback

The Feedback page provides you with the ability to provide feedback directly to Eaton.

Log Out

Tapping on Log Out will return you to the logging in page. For security reasons, the app signs you out automatically after a period.

Notifications

Depending on how you have configured your app, you can receive notifications when there is a set, unset or alarm at your panel. Tapping on a notification will open the app.

If a notification is generated while you are using the app, the message will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Note: notifications are normally reliable but are dependent on third parties such as Apple and Google and therefore delivery cannot be guaranteed.
