Marine UPS

Discover Eaton’s range of single and three phase online UPS for Marine offshore environments and applications. Eaton’s marine UPS are tested and proven for shipping environments to ensure consistent flow of reliable, clean and safe power for the ship’s operations.

Eaton marine uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) are specially engineered for shipping environments and applications, built to meet or exceed industry standards. The UPS are designed to protect critical onboard functions and processes, such as navigation, communication, bridge equipment, lighting and automation, as well as provide auxiliary power for engines and safety systems.

Eaton marine UPS are installed with mounting rails and vibration absorbers to overcome extreme vibrations that could easily damage all but the most robust equipment. They are supplied with coated boards and hi-temperature environment compatibility for offshore environment. To meet industry standards, Eaton marine UPS are provided with DNV-GL type approval for UPS models up to 15kVA. Project certification for larger ratings and/or other major marine class society certification are available as well.

Eaton marine UPS are designed with double-conversion online topology which is the preferred choice for marine use as it protects against all types of power disturbance. Double-conversion online topology is the only topology that meets the highest performance class, VFI-SS-111, requirements.

Eaton Marine UPS

Double-conversion online topology

With an online Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) operating in double-conversion mode, power flows through a rectifier and an inverter, which charges the batteries and converts incoming utility power from AC to DC. Also, a separate rectifier from the powertrain charges the batteries in most double-conversion UPS <10 kVA. In this way, power is continuously provided to connected equipment, filtering power anomalies with zero transfer time between utility power and battery mode.

Protect sensitive equipment

Online UPSs are best suited for highly sensitive IT equipment, PLC power supplies, ice cube relays and other sensitive electronics.
