Troubleshooting with the System-OK-LED status

System LED status:

  • Off (not illuminated)
  • Undefined (not flashing)
  • Constant red or flashing red
  • Flashing green, switch to constant green within 30 seconds
  • Flashing red/green
  • Constant green

 

Troubleshooting – Hardware

Problem or maloperation in:

  • Failure of the display
  • Failure of a relay output (relay outputs do not react)
  • Failure of a digital input
  • Wrong setting of the device's clock after a shortage of the supply voltage
  • Failure of a key

 

Troubleshooting – Operation of the Device  

Problem or maloperation in:

  • Relay outputs or LEDs are in unexpected state
  • A trip shall be acknowledged without a password
  • What is the default password
  • How do I reset the password

 

Troubleshooting – Parameter Settings  

Problem or maloperation in:

  • Transfer of device paramenters from one protection device to another of the same type

 

Troubleshooting – Protection and Control

Problem or maloperation in:

  • After first startup of the protective device there is a pending trip
  • The switchgears can not be operated by SCADA comunication
  • Current and voltage measurement
  • Relay outputs do not react
  • Failure of control from local or remote

 

Troubleshooting - Communication

Problem or maloperation in:

  • Failure of time synchronization
  • Failure of the TCP/IP connection
  • USB COM port is not visible on the PC
  • USB COM port visible, but no connection possible
  • Older protective devices with RS232: PowerPort-E does not connnect via RS232
  • PowerPort-E can not connect to the device. This has been possible before using the same PC
  • No communication (data transfer) with PowerPort-E possible, even though a connection has been established

 

Troubleshooting - Event Recorder

Problem or maloperation in:

  • The Event Recorder is permanently logging new events
  • The Waveform Recorder is permanently creating new records
